Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway play, and set against the sweeping canvas of World War I, this deeply heartfelt story begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and his young trainer Albert. When they’re forced apart by war, we follow Joey’s extraordinary journey as he changes and inspires the lives of everyone he meets. Filled with spectacularly rich visuals — and complete with never-before-seen bonus features — War Horse is one of the most powerful and moving stories of friendship ever told.

No matter what was put in front of “War Horse” he knew that in the end he will be returned home to where he belongs so he would not give up on fighting his war. This movie brought tears to my eyes from the beginning. “Until you can get the walk right, you can’t trot, you can’t canter” – Ruth McMullen

When the colt is sent to auction, Albert's father sees the colt and buys him for 30 guineas. Quite a price for a Thoroughbred cross who couldn't even pull a plow. We are taken on an amazing adventure during World War 1, seeing the last charge of the Mounted Calvary, going into the trenches in France, meeting a family who has lost everything, and then to the war hospitals where a miracle horse is finally reunited. The film includes a star studded cast of Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers); Benedict Cumberbatch (Amazing Grace; Sherlock); Emily Browning (Ms. Potter); David Thewlis (Black Beauty; Harry Potter) but where the true stars are the horses. This film's cinematography makes the viewer feel as if they are part of the film, going through each scenario with Joey and the people in his life. Gut clenching action scenes of war, and heart wrenching moments, War Horse is a must see film for any horse lover.
